The World Today

The World Today, watercolor on paper, 40 cm x 60 cm (15.74 in x 23.62 in)

This is my first work in 2020. I present this work to those of you who always try not to complain at this difficult time. Here is the meaning I put in this work:

Disaster (Yellow) and Rage (Red)
We never know when disaster or calamity befalls this earth. Death is a necessity. Many people react with patience even though it hurts. However, many also overflow with anger that solely comes from the ego, resentment, and boredom towards life. It only added to the fire that had been caused by the disaster.

Sadness (Blue)
Disasters produce sadness that inevitably will continue to adrift and be forced by force towards him. There is no way out of that sadness if humans do not want to respond to disasters wisely.

Trees of Hope (Green) and Anger (Orange)
There is always hope. But humans always heap with anger because of despair. Had Sadness not turned his face away from disaster, she would have found that hope squeezed between anger and the human ego.

Stars (White)
These stars symbolize human beings who sometimes walk indefinitely, sometimes are on the right path, and sometimes they can only remain in the corners of life, sheltering behind other stars.

This painting is only a meaningless scribble if God did not create a heart whose job is to give meaning.
